MC Illustration/ Le New Yorker Gala

First of all I want to apologize for not writing that much the past  couple of weeks, but I was super busy.

As many of you might know, November is the month of my birthday, so this year went BIG by having an early celebration in East Texas and then as a present to myself went to NYC for the first time to continue with the Fiesta.

For the party in East Texas, I came up with this invitation. Following the Art Deco principles, playing with the structure of the canvas and the colors, this was the final result.

I chose Art deco as my movement of inspiration, since most of the graphics created during that time where inspired by fashion and by the Big Apple. Top Magazines like Vogue, The New Yorker, have tons of covers with the influence of this design movement.

I'm beyond happy with the final product, the balance, the contrast and the forms all make a fantastic affiche.

Over the Rainbow/ 10-11 National Coming Out Day

Today I'm gonna start a new section in my blog, where I'll talk about news, events and everything happening in the LGBT community.

And the perfect way to start it, is about celebrating who we are and who we love...

Yesterday was the National Coming Out Day, founded by Robert Eichberg, a founder of The Experience workshop, and National Gay Rights Advocates head Jean O'Leary during a 1988 meeting of LGBT activists as a day to celebrate coming out. The date of October 11 was chosen to mark the anniversary of the Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which had taken place four months earlier.

I did this illustration, (Hope you like it), showing two sailor lovers, who are not afraid anymore of their feelings. Showing their love for each other, forgetting about what others say, knowing at the end of the day they will always have each other...

So, What are you waiting for? Get out of the closet and show who you really are... Don't be afraid of loving, of dreaming and living...

Agenda/ Linda's Vampire Ball

October is the month of the year when all the monsters, creatures and freaks get together to party, dance and drink. It's the perfect occasion to be free, release and lose yourself.

With that said, Linda's First Annual Vampire Ball (the first costume party of the season) took place last Saturday at The Rainbow Members Club in Longview, East Texas. From zombie cowboys, angry dead wives, werewolves to vampires, it was a scary fun night.

MC Illustration/ Gaytastic

(Hope you read this @DewittDaily)

Esta semana, sigo con mi vieja obsesión con Brad Goreski, que después de ver las imágenes que Terry Richardson le tomó, WOW!  (pueden verlas aquí) el gusto por este fashionista volvió a renacer.

I mixed two things about this fabulous guy, the fact that he's gay and on the other hand "Fantastic"...

Hope you like it and be aware and keep reading Manchic, because there's more coming...

MC Illustration/Happy Earth Day

Today is Earth Day, a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylor Nelson as an environmental teach-in held on April 22, 1970.

So let's get down to business. Here I give you 5 ACTIONS you can commit to do in your everyday life to take care of the environment and to stop Global Warming.

1.Use less water
2. Use less electricity
3. Commute without polluting
4. Reuse
5. Recycle

There you go, remember taking care of our Planet, is a daily routine and everyone's job. So start today by doing something small that can lead to something BIGGER.

MC Illustration/ Chic Lapin

Trendy and always with a sexy & fun attitude, that's Chic Lapin.

A guy full of crazy ideas, dreamer and with an excellent taste in fashion. Goes for the life trying to pursuit his dreams. Even when there's some obstacles in the road, he won't have his head down. In a jungle full of predators, style and originality are the best weapons against the enemy.

MC Illustration/ The G* Stereotypes

OMG! Finally after postponing for a long time this illustration, I made it happen.

There's not such thing as different kind of gay guys, but definitely there's some Stereo-types; like in the real and everyday life. For example: the nerd guy, the smart guy, the popular guy, the jock guy, etc... In the gay community, you can also easily say what kind of gay a guy is.

I tried to show the most common and the simplest to represent.

1. BusinessMan. They are the kind who wear suits and go to work in offices. Very straight looking, hunky, grown-up, non-twink, sexy, toned and muscled men but not bodybuilders. Usually guys in their thirties and forties.

2. Cowboy. They like to go horse ridding, rodeos, country music and activities outdoors. Very hard worker men with a masculine body.

3. Twink Is the goodlooking and cleancut young man. Often blond and dimpled, with smooth and usually hairless skin, flawless complexion, and frequently tanned. They are young and with a cute face.

4. Buff. They have the muscular and weightlifter's body that has been shaped and refined through hours of blood, sweat, and tears in gyms. It is a manufactured body, created by thousands of man-hours of backbreaking bench presses, flyes, butterfly curls, dips, and other iron-pushing maneuvres, executed in a four-on, one-off punishing schedule of gym-going. They eat healthy and they like to show up is body on the dance floor.

5. Leather. They are the kind who wear leather, jeans, harness and jockstraps. Into BDSM, Exhibitionism & SM. Also enjoy having though sex or sex in public. They have usually different kinds of body. Mostly guys in their forties or fifties. The Folsom Street Fair is their annual street fair held on the last Sunday in September and caps San Francisco's "Leather Pride Week".

6. Bear. Tend to have hairy bodies and facial hair; some are heavy-set; some project an image of working-class masculinity in their grooming and appearance, though none of these are requirements or unique indicators. Typically very similar in appearance to the ideal of the North American lumberjack.

So here are the types, which one are you?
