Today's World/ Kill The Gays

You wouldn't believe that living in the 21st Century something like this will actually happen. But apparently it could if we don't do something quickly. 

 In an "almighty" act Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni decided to create a law that  could come up for a vote in the next 24 hours and would make being LGBT in Uganda a crime punishable by death.

Let's raise our voice and let Mr. President know this is against every human right by signing and sharing the petition vowing the veto the "Kill the Gays" bill.

Embedded/ IKEA Pro-Gay Family Ad

         Here's the newest section of my blog: "Embedded" where I'll be posting inspirational logos, campaigns that WOW us or any other media related to the graphic design field. 

And running into Ikea's latest campaign couldn't be more than perfect. With the opening of one store in Catania, Italy; the Swedish ready-to-assemble furniture company decided to go Pro-Gay. The slogan campaign  "Siamo aperti a tutte le famiglie" which means "We are open to all families" showing two men holding hands can't get any smarter.

Launching the campaign in such a Catholic country talks really good about the company. In a world where being gay isn't that different from being ST8 anymore, we shouldn't be surprised if large corporations start targeting the gay market.

Agenda/ The Annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade

The Annual Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade best known as Dallas Gay Pride took place last Sunday. Under a blue sky the colors of the rainbow marched down Cedar Springs Road to cheer up thousands of onlookers that gathered together to celebrate their Pride.
A hot sunny Sunday was the perfect scenario for breaking all prior attendance records, and also to show some skin.

It was my first PRIDE and I must admit I was super excited. This celebrating comes kind of easily nowadays, but let's not forget that back in 1969 in New York City, our people had to fought to defend their sexuality.

 Pride comes now as something not to be a shame of. People should be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity, diversity is a gift, and that sexual orientation and gender identity are inherent and cannot be intentionally altered. 

After the parade, the hot boys enjoyed the rest of the day visiting the bars down Cedar Springs, where it was all about having fun and celebration. Jr's was packed and the rhythm of the music kept everyone dancing, The Round Up Salon had the most gorgeous guys, the sexiest Texans and the most diversity audience. Drama Room kept it sexy with their strippers. Definitely a day I won't forget.
