Today's World/ International Day against AIDS

Today the world wears red to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic cause by the spread of HIV infection.

There's 33.3 million people living with HIV, over 2.6 million newly infected with HIV in 2009 and 1.8 million deaths from HIV the same year.

The overall growth of the epidemic has stabilized in recent years. The annual number of new HIV infections has steadily declined and due to the significant increase in people receiving antiretroviral therapy, the number of AIDS-related deaths has also declined.

That doesn't mean we are done fighting this disses, visit the  organizations to see how can you get involved and make donations; but more IMPORTANTLY, protect yourself and others, wear a condom and get tested, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean is not there.

Spotted/ @ 49 Grove

Nightlife is fun, crazy and exhausting. Spotted is the new section of my blog featuring the best gay clubs all over the world. (If you would love to be Spotted contact me at georlee@gmail.com)

Two weeks ago I was in "The Big Apple" for the first time, and had the chance to check some awesome places.

Wednesday November 10th the better place to be at was 49 Grove Lounge.

This modern classic underground showplace located in 49 Grove St, attracts a sophisticated crowd fusing together intimacy, comfort and style. Oversized velvet couches, studded leather, ottomans, huge silver framed mirrors and black and white photography will make you feel like your dancing in fashion heaven; and trust me, you will feel like if you just die and went straight to heaven with all the charming creatures dancing around.

From the boy next door to the Diva to the celebrities, you'll see gorgeous boys and beautiful girls together in one place. Don't believe me? Just take a look to the pictures.

Special thanks to Michael Cohen who invited me to check out this place.

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ What's my name

I've been listening and dancing to this song for the last couple of weeks and when I saw the video my mind just exploded. I love this song because of the beats and the lyrics, and to realized the video was filmed in New York, was the perfect end for this fairy tale I'm on.

Rihanna seems to be in her top. Her latest album (LOUD) is now in stores and everybody is loving it. In this video, again, she show us how talented she is, also gives us the right dosis of eclectic fashion.

There's something funny about this, before I even watched the video, I pictured myself walking  down the streets of Manhattan while dancing to the song. Weird, right!? Anyways... What do you think about Ri's new video!? I personally LOVE IT

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ Happiness

18 years old Alexis Jordan, made my nights while in NYC. Her single "Happiness", one of the most played songs at the clubs in the Big Apple.

I ran into her song a couple of weeks before flying to NYC, while searching tracks online. Since the day I listened it for the first time, I felt in love. The rhythm is just magical and the lyrics just give me  a rush of happiness.

Then I watched the video, which I think it's genial; different, with a new vibe, amazing moves and a cute guy. Besides she looks super pretty.

I just can't stop dancing to this song...

MC Illustration/ Le New Yorker Gala

First of all I want to apologize for not writing that much the past  couple of weeks, but I was super busy.

As many of you might know, November is the month of my birthday, so this year went BIG by having an early celebration in East Texas and then as a present to myself went to NYC for the first time to continue with the Fiesta.

For the party in East Texas, I came up with this invitation. Following the Art Deco principles, playing with the structure of the canvas and the colors, this was the final result.

I chose Art deco as my movement of inspiration, since most of the graphics created during that time where inspired by fashion and by the Big Apple. Top Magazines like Vogue, The New Yorker, have tons of covers with the influence of this design movement.

I'm beyond happy with the final product, the balance, the contrast and the forms all make a fantastic affiche.

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ Whip My Hair

School has never been funnier than this... Willow Smith "Whip My Hair" video is FIERCE.

A typically boring day at school gets interesting when Willow whips her hair all over the classroom and brings color and excitement to all of her classmates. All of the sudden, everybody is dancing and having a good time.

The fashion in this video is I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E: Diamonds, chains & retro futuristic clothes line up in front of our eyes, creating a colorful explosion in our heads.

In an Interview she had with MTV (see it here); she describes her style as school girl meets punk rock.

Showing this talent at such a young age (she's only 9), Definitely a artist to keep an eye on.
Besides being talented she seems really smart, genuine and real... That smile at the end of the video, priceless...

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ A new "Lohan" has born

Miley Cyrus (Who Owns My Heart) new video has caused some controversy over the past two weeks... The video shows a sexy new Miley, showing her underwear, partying and  dirty dancing with boys and girls.

The video itself it's HOT and provocative, but I don't think it's the best way for Miley to express that's shes now a grown up and that she wants to get ride of her Hannah Montana character.

In addition, the video reminds me of Rumors by Lindsay Lohan, (and I wonder if Miley will follow her steps, since Lindsay was also trying to move on from her childhood characters) I hope not, because GOD knows this world can only take one Lohan.

Anyways, What are your thoughts about this video; Did she went too far trying to express her "individuality" or is she just growing up and seeking for her style?

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ Only Girl

Yesterday Rihannaa's latest video was released. Only Girl, a video with a vintage, fun and colorful atmosphere shows Rihanna in a field cover with flowers, in mountains with balloons and in the middle of a river. Her new hairstyle looks great on her and make her look really young. It's a playful video where she seems to be having a good time.

Check it out and let me know what you think... I personally love this song, super catchy, hip and ready to play it and dance it all night long...

Over the Rainbow/ 10-11 National Coming Out Day

Today I'm gonna start a new section in my blog, where I'll talk about news, events and everything happening in the LGBT community.

And the perfect way to start it, is about celebrating who we are and who we love...

Yesterday was the National Coming Out Day, founded by Robert Eichberg, a founder of The Experience workshop, and National Gay Rights Advocates head Jean O'Leary during a 1988 meeting of LGBT activists as a day to celebrate coming out. The date of October 11 was chosen to mark the anniversary of the Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, which had taken place four months earlier.

I did this illustration, (Hope you like it), showing two sailor lovers, who are not afraid anymore of their feelings. Showing their love for each other, forgetting about what others say, knowing at the end of the day they will always have each other...

So, What are you waiting for? Get out of the closet and show who you really are... Don't be afraid of loving, of dreaming and living...

Agenda/ Linda's Vampire Ball

October is the month of the year when all the monsters, creatures and freaks get together to party, dance and drink. It's the perfect occasion to be free, release and lose yourself.

With that said, Linda's First Annual Vampire Ball (the first costume party of the season) took place last Saturday at The Rainbow Members Club in Longview, East Texas. From zombie cowboys, angry dead wives, werewolves to vampires, it was a scary fun night.
