Spotted/ @ 49 Grove

Nightlife is fun, crazy and exhausting. Spotted is the new section of my blog featuring the best gay clubs all over the world. (If you would love to be Spotted contact me at georlee@gmail.com)

Two weeks ago I was in "The Big Apple" for the first time, and had the chance to check some awesome places.

Wednesday November 10th the better place to be at was 49 Grove Lounge.

This modern classic underground showplace located in 49 Grove St, attracts a sophisticated crowd fusing together intimacy, comfort and style. Oversized velvet couches, studded leather, ottomans, huge silver framed mirrors and black and white photography will make you feel like your dancing in fashion heaven; and trust me, you will feel like if you just die and went straight to heaven with all the charming creatures dancing around.

From the boy next door to the Diva to the celebrities, you'll see gorgeous boys and beautiful girls together in one place. Don't believe me? Just take a look to the pictures.

Special thanks to Michael Cohen who invited me to check out this place.

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ What's my name

I've been listening and dancing to this song for the last couple of weeks and when I saw the video my mind just exploded. I love this song because of the beats and the lyrics, and to realized the video was filmed in New York, was the perfect end for this fairy tale I'm on.

Rihanna seems to be in her top. Her latest album (LOUD) is now in stores and everybody is loving it. In this video, again, she show us how talented she is, also gives us the right dosis of eclectic fashion.

There's something funny about this, before I even watched the video, I pictured myself walking  down the streets of Manhattan while dancing to the song. Weird, right!? Anyways... What do you think about Ri's new video!? I personally LOVE IT

Le Mouvement Quotidien/ Happiness

18 years old Alexis Jordan, made my nights while in NYC. Her single "Happiness", one of the most played songs at the clubs in the Big Apple.

I ran into her song a couple of weeks before flying to NYC, while searching tracks online. Since the day I listened it for the first time, I felt in love. The rhythm is just magical and the lyrics just give me  a rush of happiness.

Then I watched the video, which I think it's genial; different, with a new vibe, amazing moves and a cute guy. Besides she looks super pretty.

I just can't stop dancing to this song...

MC Illustration/ Le New Yorker Gala

First of all I want to apologize for not writing that much the past  couple of weeks, but I was super busy.

As many of you might know, November is the month of my birthday, so this year went BIG by having an early celebration in East Texas and then as a present to myself went to NYC for the first time to continue with the Fiesta.

For the party in East Texas, I came up with this invitation. Following the Art Deco principles, playing with the structure of the canvas and the colors, this was the final result.

I chose Art deco as my movement of inspiration, since most of the graphics created during that time where inspired by fashion and by the Big Apple. Top Magazines like Vogue, The New Yorker, have tons of covers with the influence of this design movement.

I'm beyond happy with the final product, the balance, the contrast and the forms all make a fantastic affiche.
